How to Share Instagram Photos or Videos on WhatsApp Status or With Contacts

Share Instagram Photos or Videos on WhatsApp Status or with contacts

Instagram being the most popular photo sharing app has plenty of interesting content shared on it every single day. And if you use other platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp then why not give it more eye balls by sharing it there. For Facebook, we have already mentioned how you can share your own Instagram posts or someone else’s photos or videos on Facebook. If you wish to share Instagram photos or videos on WhatsApp Status or with individual contacts then you can follow this tutorial to do that on Android and iPhone/iPad.

Because of the fact that Instagram and WhatsApp are both owned by Facebook, there has been a lot of integration done between the two apps. Stories like status on WhatsApp was mirrored from Instagram stories. To bring the two apps even closer, the Instagram app supports WhatsApp sharing. Here’s how.

Share Instagram Photos or Videos on WhatsApp

Currently, Instagram on Android allows you to do it directly so you don’t need any third party app. iOS users can skip to the iPhone method later in this article which requires a bit more work.

Android

1. Launch the Instagram app and go the desired post you wish to share on WhatsApp.

2. Tap on the 3 dots on the top right of the photo or video and select Share on WhatsApp.

Share Videos from Instagram to WhatsApp status or Contacts on Android

3. WhatsApp will open and now you can select My status to post it as your WhatsApp Story. Or select the desired contacts/groups to send it to them in chat.

Before sending the Instagram photos you can add caption, text, draw if desired as you would do while sending other images.

Apart from WhatsApp, you will also find an option to share on Facebook Messenger(only for photos) as well. The Messenger sharing feature is also there on iOS app for both photos and videos.

The photos from Instagram are shared to WhatsApp similar to other photos so you don’t have to go away from WhatsApp to view them. But for videos only the link is shared, the users will still have to navigate to Instagram to view the actual video.

To overcome this, you can download the video and then send it on WhatsApp.

Send Videos From Instagram on WhatsApp Status or Contacts

  • Install Easy Downloader for Instagram app. I recommend you to use the following link to go to the correct app on the Play Store.
  • After installing the app all you need is the link to the Instagram video. For that, open the Easy Downloader app and tap on the Instagram icon at the top.

Send Videos from Instagram to WhatsApp

  • This will take you to the Instagram app where you can tap on the 3 dots menu at the top right of the desired video and select Copy Share URL.

That’s all you need to do. Easy Downloader app will take care of the rest. Bring up the notification tray and you will see the Instagram video downloading. Once it is downloaded it should be a piece of cake for you now to send the video or photo from Gallery to your WhatsApp Status or contacts.

iPhone

For iOS, currently there is no Share to WhatsApp option but that doesn’t mean it is not possible. You will need to download the photo or video from Instagram and then send it on WhatsApp. There are many third party apps available on App Store but most of them either require coins or are paid. However, I found one that is absolutely free of cost and works like a charm.

  • Download Regrammer from the App Store.
  • Next, open Instagram app and tap on the 3 dots above the desired photo or video and select Copy Link.

Share Instagram videos on WhatsApp Status

  • Now, launch Regrammer app and the copied link will be pasted automatically into the text field from the clipboard. Tap on Preview.
  • The app will fetch the photo or video from Instagram. Tap on Share icon just below where the post is loaded and select Save Video or Save Image.

Share Instagram photos or videos on WhatsApp from iPhone

The Instagram photo or video will be saved to the Camera Roll.  You can now easily send the Instagram post on WhatsApp.

We hope that you were able to share Instagram photos or videos on WhatsApp status or with contacts. If you face any issues then feel free to drop a comment below.

So let’s better have a look how we can hide WhatsApp images from gallery in Android and iPhone.

Android and iPhone, both have two different methods and none of them require to install any app to achieve the task. However, Android has a bit longer task than iOS.

From now onwards whenever you receive any photo from your WhatsApp contact, it will not be shown in the gallery.

With over a 1.3 billion people using WhatsApp to communicate on a daily basis everyone’s chat archive builds up over time. What if later you wish to find an address that your friend shared with you on WhatsApp. Swiping within a chat to get to the desired message is a mundane and time killing task. And it’s such a disappointment when you don’t find the message you’re looking for. To take care of that in the latest update WhatsApp has rolled out the ability to search messages within certain chats for both Android and iPhone. In this tutorial, we let you know how to use it and search specific WhatsApp chats or groups.

It was some time back when the feature to search all the chats was launched. You can use it if you are not sure about the sender of the message you’re searching for. That feature performs a search in all the chats and groups. But if you are certain about the contact or group from whom that particular message came from then use the steps below.

Search Specific WhatsApp Chats/Groups

Update the app to the latest version 2.17.60(iPhone) and 2.17.267(Android) or later to make use of the individual chat search feature. After the update is done you’re good to proceed ahead. The procedure for both the platforms iOS and Android are mentioned.

WhatsApp Live Location feature

WhatsApp after testing the live location sharing for some time now has finally launched it. It’s not the first time users will be able to do that as the likes of the Facebook messenger, Google Maps and Messages on iPhone already have it. A few months back even Snapchat introduced it by the name of Snap Map. And this time around it is coming to WhatsApp, the most used instant messenger around the world. This guide will let you know how to use and share live location on WhatsApp from iPhone and Android devices.

What is WhatsApp Live Location?

WhatsApp has location sharing feature since a long time. But it is a static and a one-time location. Which means that you have to share it again when you move to a different place. On the other hand, live location tracks and shows you on the map as you move for the specified time interval. It is dynamic in nature and updates in real-time. Even when you are not using WhatsApp it will still keep your location updated on the map automatically.

So, let’s go ahead and see how to use live location feature.

Share Live Location on WhatsApp

Update to the latest version of WhatsApp from the respective app stores. Once done, follow the steps below.

I have used screenshots from the iPhone app but there isn’t much of difference for Android.

  • Make sure to enable Location services on your device and allow WhatsApp to access it. If you are an iOS user then real-time location sharing won’t work in Low Power Mode so disable it before proceeding.
  • Open WhatsApp and select the conversation of the individual contact or group with whom you want to share live location.
  • Now, tap on the + icon(iOS) and paperclip/attach icon(Android) and select Location.

Share Live Location on WhatsApp from Android and iPhone

  • If you are on the latest version then you will see a new option “Share Live Location“. Tap on it.

Change WhatsApp number without losing data

Did you just change your phone number or the existing one got deactivated for some reason? The latter happened to me and it was the number associated with my WhatsApp account. Does it sound like a similar story as yours? Well, we are here to help you with it. All you need to do is change WhatsApp number to a new one. At the same time, taking care that no data or chats are lost. Keep reading this tutorial to learn how to achieve it on iPhone and Android devices.

Whatever may be your reason for changing the number in WhatsApp we’ve you covered with this step-by-step guide.

So, let’s get started.

Change WhatsApp Number Without Losing Data

I have used the steps and screenshots from iPhone but Android users shouldn’t face any difficulty while following them as the process is more or less the same.

  • Launch WhatsApp and go to Settings. On iOS, it is at the bottom right at the time of writing. For Android, tap on the 3 dots at the top right and select Settings.

Change phone number in WhatsApp

  • Under Settings, select Account.
  • Next, tap on Change Number.
  • The next screen will share a few details about the migration. Tap on Next at the top right.

Change WhatsApp number

  • Now, type your existing/old phone number and the new one. Finally, tap on Next to initialize migration.

That’s all there’s to it. If the phone numbers you entered are correct and match, your WhatsApp account will be switched to the new phone number within a few seconds.

What Happens When You Change Phone Number on WhatsApp?

Here’s all the data that is transferred to the new account.

  • Your Account and profile information
  • All the Groups
  • Current Account Settings

Apart from that, the WhatsApp account that was registered with the old phone number will be deleted.

Coming to the data and chat history, everything will be migrated to the account with the new number as long as you are using the same smartphone.

So, the Change Number feature takes care of your messages and media and transfers them automatically while migrating your account.

In case you wish to switch to the new account on a different phone and at the same time keep all the data then you need to first take backup on the old phone. After that, restore the backup on the new device. Once you transfer all the WhatsApp account information on the new phone you can use the WhatsApp Change Number option on it to change the number.

This will make sure that you don’t lose data while switching to a new number on a different phone.

Will Your Contacts be Notified of the Changed Number?

WhatsApp will automatically notify the contacts and groups with whom you had a conversation and not all of them. The notification will look something like – “212121(old number) changed to 121212(new number)”

Currently, it works like this but with the latest reports, it seems WhatsApp will be adding a new feature that will notify your contacts when you change your phone number.

We hope that you were able to change WhatsApp number and all your queries related to it were answered. If you have any other questions feel free to drop a comment and let us know.

Don’t forget to share this article on social media if you feel it adds value.

Delete WhatsApp Messages for Everyone on Android and iPhone

With over a billion users communicating through WhatsApp every day, mistakes, like sending a message to an incorrect contact or sending an inappropriate message to a friend, are bound to happen. To help you cover it, WhatsApp has finally released unsend or Delete for Everyone feature. Rumors and reports about it have been around for quite some time now. But all that is done and dusted as WhatsApp has started to roll it out for Android and iPhone. Follow this tutorial to learn how to use the feature to delete WhatsApp messages for everyone.

What does Delete for Everyone Mean?

Previously you could only delete sent WhatsApp messages from your phone. The latest feature allows you to delete the message not only for yourself but also for the recipient(s) after sending. It is similar to unsend in Instagram.

Before proceeding ahead, I would like you to note the below things for the feature to work.

  • You cannot delete the messages from the friend’s contacts if they are more than 7 minutes old.
  • The recipient should be on the latest WhatsApp version for the feature to work.
  • You can even unsend messages that are read.
  • It works for both groups and individual chats.

So, let’s dive into the steps for Android and iOS app.

Delete WhatsApp Messages for Everyone

The feature was launched out a few days ago but it’s rolling out slowly to everyone. I got it today. So, if you still don’t get it after updating the app be patient it will be there soon.

  • Launch WhatsApp and open the desired contact or group conversation. Long tap on the message you wish to delete.

iPhone

  • A context menu will appear tap on the right arrow and select Delete option.

Unsend WhatsApp messages on iPhone

  • It is also possible to select multiple messages if desired. As mentioned earlier the messages should be up to 7 minutes old for Delete for Everyone option to appear.
  • After making the selection tap on the Trash icon at the bottom left and select Delete for Everyone.

Delete for everyone WhatsApp messages

In case of multiple messages, the number of messages will also be included.

Delete WhatsApp messages from recipients phone

  • Delete for Me works in the same way delete used to work earlier. It will only remove messages from your phone.

With this, the message(s) will be erased from the recipient as well as your chat.

Android

  • Select multiple messages to delete if you wish. Tap on the trash icon at the top row.

  • Now, with the latest update, you will get more options. Tap on Delete for Everyone.

Unlike unsend on Instagram, the recipient will know that you have deleted a sent message. The deleted messages will be labeled as “This message was deleted” in recipient’s chat. But still, it is better than the embarrassment of the wrong message.

We hope that you were able to unsend WhatsApp messages. If you face any issues let us know in the comments below.

Disable WhatsApp notifications while using it

With WhatsApp being used as a means of communication by over a billion users, it happens more often than not that we end up getting messages and notifications from multiple friends in the same time interval. It’s perfectly fine to receive the notifications when you’re not using the app. But it can be quite irritating to get the notification bar appearing at the top while you’re busy chatting with someone else. To avoid that from happening WhatsApp does provide a setting(In-App Notifications). In this tutorial, we share the steps to find the option which lets you turn off WhatsApp in-app notifications.

There’s a way to disable WhatsApp notifications completely to stop WhatsApp messages from popping up in the notifications bar if desired. But doing this will make you miss out on a lot of messages. So, turn them off only at your own risk.

The notifications appearing when you’re inside WhatsApp texting with a particular person can take the focus off the current one. In order to chat peacefully with a contact, you can turn off WhatsApp notifications only when using it while keeping them enabled when you are inactive on WhatsApp. Here’s how.

Turn Off WhatsApp In-App Notifications

Currently, the option is only available for the iOS app. So, Android users need to be content with disabling notifications entirely or keeping them as it is for now.

iPhone users can follow the method below.

  • Open WhatsApp and select the Settings tab at the bottom right.

WhatsApp notification settings

  • Now, tap on on Notifications.
  • Under Notifications, tap on In-App Notifications.

Turn off WhatsApp in-app notifications

  • Here, you will have options to disable Sounds, vibrations and notification bar/banner/alert. Select None in Alert Style and toggle Sounds and Vibrate switch to OFF.

This will disable the WhatsApp messages notifications from other contacts/chats while you’re using it and you will still receive notifications when you close or come out of WhatsApp.

If you only want to get rid of the notification bar at the top then only select None in Alert Style and keep Sounds and Vibrate options to ON. In this case, the sound and vibration will be there without banner when a new message is received.

You can always enable WhatsApp in-app notifications later from the same location whenever desired.

With WhatsApp being the go-to messaging app for over a billion users, it becomes imperative to take care of your privacy. How to Enable/Disable WhatsApp Security Notifications

Enable or Disable WhatsApp Security Notifications

When WhatsApp launched end-to-end encryption in 2016 they made sure that apart from people communicating, no one can read your messages, not even WhatsApp themselves. It was made possible using security codes that are unique to each chat. The code consists of a QR code and a 60-digit number which is shared by the users in the conversation. Now, this code may change if a contact uninstalls and reinstall WhatsApp or switches phone. This will show a notification in the conversation that says “[Contact] security code changed”. This can be distracting while you’re having an interesting chat. But you can get rid of them as WhatsApp allows you to turn them off. In case you are someone who wants the opposite and get notified of the code change then you can do that as well. Continue reading for learning the steps to enable or disable WhatsApp security notifications.

The method is exactly the same for Android and iPhone. For this tutorial, we have used screenshots from iPhone app.

Enable or Disable WhatsApp Security Notifications

1. Open WhatsApp and tap on Settings tab at the bottom right(iOS). On Android, tap on the 3 dots at the top right corner and select Settings.

Show or Hide WhatsApp security notifications

2. Under Settings, tap on Account.

3. Now, tap on Security.

4. Here, you will find Show Security Notifications toggle switch. Turn it ON/OFF according to your liking.

Doing this will activate or disable encryption code change notifications in the conversation.

Notes

1. Even if the security code changes your chats are still encrypted.

2. Irrespective of what you chose in the setting above you chats are end-to-end encrypted.

Also ReadHow to turn off WhatsApp notifications

To conclude, all I want to say is that security code change doesn’t affect the encryption in any way so you can turn off the notifications for the same without any second thoughts for uninterrupted chatting.

What are you going to do? Let us know in the comments.

How to Read Deleted WhatsApp Messages on Android

read deleted whatsapp messages

We all are aware of the fact that now in WhatsApp we can delete the messages sent by us from both the ends. This means that if you have mistakenly sent some message to someone, then you can delete that message straight away and that message will get deleted from the receiver’s phone too! In place of that deleted message, a text will be displayed on the receiver’s phone which reads as “This message was deleted”. Therefore, you can’t read deleted WhatsApp messages but can surely know that any particular message has been deleted after it had been sent.

Surely this is a great add-on which we really had been waiting for so long! Now, having said that, you might be imagining whether you can read that deleted message or not. The answer is a big yes! Here are the two apps with which you can easily do the same.

Apps to Read Deleted WhatsApp Messages

In order to make these apps work, WhatsApp push notifications need to be enabled.

1) Using “Notification History” App

1) Open Google Play Store and search for the “Notification History” app or click here.

2) Once you are done with the installation of the app, open the app.

3) At first, the app will ask you for the permission to enable the Accessibility Service and Notification Access. It will look like the following. Tap on the part which is disabled in order to activate it.

enable accessibility service

4) After that, you will see the following option as shown in the picture below. Turn the toggle button ON and tap OK.

grant permission

That’s it! Now the app has gained access to the notification log of your system and can now easily save the notifications letting you read even deleted messages from now on!

5) Next, look for the WhatsApp icon inside the app and you can easily see any deleted messages from WhatsApp.

recover deleted whatsapp message - notification history

Note 1: This app won’t be able to show deleted messages if your internet connection was turned off during the time period when your WhatsApp contact has sent and deleted the messages.

Note 2: This app will not show emojis, pics, and video messages which have been deleted. The app only displays approximately the first 150 words of your WhatsApp text message.

If “Notification History” did not work on your phone, you can try another app ” WA Delete for Everyone”.

2) Using “WA Delete for Everyone”

This app is designed specifically for WhatsApp notifications only. You can view the deleted messages easily with this app.

1) Install the “WA Delete for Everyone” app from Google Play Store or get it directly from here.

2) Now open the app and the app will show its limitations and conditions info. Tap on the “AGREE AND CONTINUE” button.

wa app for android

3) The app will now ask for your approval to enable Notification Access Permission. Just tap on “ENABLE PERMISSION“.

4) Simply toggle ON the option for “WA Delete for Everyone“.

wa delete for everyone

5) Now the app will ask for your permission to allow notification access to itself. Just tap on “ALLOW“.

The app will now be able to show even the deleted messages of WhatsApp. Also, now you can always easily open the app and use it for its intended purpose of recovering deleted messages.

wa delete for everyone

So, this is how you can read deleted WhatsApp messages easily even when the sender has deleted them. Actually, these apps gain access to the Notification Log of your phone in order to display the messages separately. There could also be other workarounds for gaining access directly to the Notification Log without using these apps. But we will cover that in some other article after we verify whether it works on all Android versions or not.

Meanwhile, you can download these handy apps from Play Store and read all the deleted messages without any hassle.
