Unsend WhatsApp messages even after 7 minutes

Delete For Everyone feature made it to the popular messaging app WhatsApp last year. It is a handy feature for anyone who is used to sending irrelevant messages to wrong contacts. Using it you can unsend or delete messages not only from your phone but also from the recipients WhatsApp conversation. But there’s a catch, it’s only possible to delete messages that are up to 7 minutes old. What if you wish to remove them after that time frame? Well, a glitch in WhatsApp allows you to do just that. In our guide, we have mentioned the simple steps to be followed to unsend WhatsApp messages even after 7 minutes. The trick works perfectly on both Android and iPhone.

Unsend WhatsApp Messages Even After 7 Minutes

1. First, you will have to quit WhatsApp. On iPhone, you can easily do that by double pressing Home button and swipe up WhatsApp screen to kill the app.

For Android, tap on the Recent Application menu. The icon will vary for every device. On Gionee S7 it is a square icon. When the apps appear, swipe up from the bottom of the screen until you see WhatsApp. After that, swipe right on the WhatsApp screen to close the app.

2. Next, turn off Mobile data and Wi-Fi on your smartphone. You should not be connected to the internet.

3. The next thing you have to do is to change the date and time on your device that is before the sent message date/time. For instance, if I wish to delete a message sent on 6 Jan 10:21 PM then I will change the date & time to anything before 6 Jan 10:21 PM.

On iPhone: Settings > General > Date & Time > Toggle Off Set Automatically > Set the desired Data & Time.

On Android: Settings > Date & Time > Uncheck Automatic Date & Time > Set desired Date & Time.

Limitation: You can only unsend messages that are up to 5 days old. So, this trick won’t work for messages older than that.

4. After you’ve changed the date/time open WhatsApp while the internet is still disabled. Tap and hold the desired message until you see a menu.

On iPhone, tap on the right arrow and select Delete while on Android you need to tap on delete icon at the top. You can also select multiple messages.

After making the selection tap on Trash icon at the bottom left(iPhone) and select Delete For Everyone.

5. Finally, you can turn on the internet and restore the data & time if desired.

When you come back in the conversation you will see that the message has been deleted for all the parties.

RecommendedHow to Read Deleted WhatsApp Messages on Android

We hope that you were able to delete WhatsApp messages that are older than 7 minutes. Don’t forget to share the article with others so that they are also able to make use of this WhatsApp snag.

Dismiss as Admin on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has become so popular because it listens to its users. One example of that is the latest feature they are working on and is already there in the beta version of the app on Android. People have been wanting to demote admin while retaining them in the WhatsApp group. Until now, you had to take the long way where one of the admins had to first remove the desired admin from the group and then add them to the group again. With the latest update, you can directly remove admin rights on WhatsApp without removing from group using the new Dismiss as admin option.

Note: Currently, the feature has only rolled out to the beta version of the app(2.18.13). If you can’t wait for the feature to be on the official Android version then here’s how you can get the beta version.

It can be expected to roll out soon for iPhone as well. We will update this article once that happens.

Dismiss Admin On WhatsApp Without Removing From Group

The Dismiss as admin option will only be available to the group admins. So, if you are one then here’s how you can demote another admin.

  • Launch WhatsApp and open the desired group conversation.
  • Tap on the group name at the top to go to the Group Info screen.
  • Next, tap on the name of the admin you wish to demote under participants.

Remove Admin Rights On WhatsApp Without Removing From Group

  • On the next menu, select Dismiss as admin.

In a couple of seconds, the person’s admin rights will be removed and will be transferred to a normal group member.

As mentioned earlier, currently you will only get this option if you are using the beta version(2.18.13) or later.

The new feature makes it possible to remove admin rights on WhatsApp while keeping the person in the group. Is it something that will be useful for you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and also share this guide to let others know about the latest update.

Add Time Or Location Stickers On WhatsApp Photos videos status

After cloning the status feature from Instagram and Snapchat stories, WhatsApp has now copied the stickers offered by these two apps. In the latest update, WhatsApp has added time and location stickers. So, not all of the stickers, yet! As Instagram and Snapchat offer a host of other stickers like temperature, poll and more apart from location and time. The two new stickers introduced on WhatsApp can be added to photos, videos or status. In this guide, we will let you know the simple steps to add time or location stickers on WhatsApp from Android and iPhone.

The feature has been rolled out for both Android and iPhone app. So, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app by going to the respective app stores.

Add Time Or Location Stickers On WhatsApp

We have used the steps and screenshots from the iPhone app but there are only slight changes on Android, nothing significant.

Sending Photo Or Video To Contact Or Group With Stickers

1. Select the conversation of a friend or group.

2. After that, select a photo or video from the Camera Roll or use the WhatsApp Camera to capture the image or record a video as you would normally do.

3. When you have the desired photo or video tap on the smiley icon at the top row (indicated in the screenshot below)

Add time and location stickers on WhatsApp

4. Now, you should see a new section – “Stickers” above Smileys. Under that, you will get new time and location stickers. Tap on the desired sticker to add it to the photo or video.

Note: To use the exact location on the location sticker you need to turn on location services on your phone or else you can move the pin on the map to add a fake location.

5. When the sticker is added you can adjust its size using pinch and zoom. It is possible to add multiple stickers in the same post. To do so, tap on the smiley icon again and select the sticker.

Delete Added Sticker on Photo or Video on WhatsApp

If you want to remove the added sticker press and hold it and drag it to the trash icon that appears at the top left corner.

Pro Tip: You can change the sticker color and style by tapping on it when it is added to the photo/video.

Change sticker style on WhatsApp

Add Stickers To WhatsApp Status

There is not much of a difference here from the above method. All you need to do is go to the Status tab and start adding something to your status. Alternatively, you can even start adding to your status directly from Camera Roll or Gallery.

After you select or capture the media then you can simply use the smiley icon to add stickers as explained above.

Once you have added the stickers to your post then you can send it to your friends in chat or upload to your status as usual.

Apart from this WhatsApp has also added the possibility to search group participants but that’s only for iPhone as of now.

We hope that you were able to add time and location stickers on WhatsApp. In future, WhatsApp may add even more stickers like there on Instagram and Snapchat. Do you like the new stickers on WhatsApp? Share your experience in the comments below.

Telegram Vs WhatsApp: Which Is The Best Instant Messaging Service?

Telegram vs WhatsApp comparison

WhatsApp and Telegram have multiple things in common. After all, they fetch the same purpose of conveying the message to our dear ones as soon as possible a.k.a Instant Messaging.  As far as the user base is concerned, there is no competition for WhatsApp among all other instant messaging apps. But Telegram can give a very tough competition if you consider all the features that both the apps have got for you. So, here we are with the Telegram vs WhatsApp comparison to help you decide the better one.

Telegram Vs WhatsApp

Firstly we will discuss in brief what each app offers and how they are the best messaging apps.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is huge. Approximately 5 out of 10 smartphone users are active on WhatsApp. After the age of text messaging through phone, WhatsApp not just made sending all the messages for free but now the user can also share pictures or videos altogether. You can see if someone is online so that you can start the conversation.

It is little like Facebook messaging but phone numbers are known to each other on WhatsApp. Other amazing features are messaging in real time without any delay, group messaging, see if your message is seen etc. Even if your friend is outside your country you can easily chat without worrying about the cost.

WhatsApp still brings so many features every now and then that most people choose to stick here. We will discuss later what new features and updates WhatsApp have got that keeps it above Telegram in terms of popularity and user base.

Telegram

Telegram came 3-4 years after WhatsApp. It also gained popularity because people were concerned very much about their privacy and panicked by the rumors that WhatsApp sells your data.

Telegram came up with an end to end encrypted messaging option but now WhatsApp has that too. Still, Telegram has many more features which makes it special and creating Channels is just one of them.

We will discuss other amazing and decent features of Telegram while comparing both the apps.

Comparing Telegram and WhatsApp Features

Let’s start by comparing popularity and see how far we have to go to make a final verdict about these significant apps.

User Base

As we have already talked about this, there are many chances that a person you want to talk or chat with might not have a Telegram account. WhatsApp had already taken over the chatting apps space when Telegram arrived.

Telegram also lacks some basic features which would attract a normal user who has made up with WhatsApp already. WhatsApp has more than a billion users and Telegram is stuck at 200 million.

So, WhatsApp wins here.

Finding Friends

Making new friends is not really a thing to do with these apps. But Telegram has a little advantage to take away from here. On both apps, you need your friends’ phone number to start an interaction.

But on Telegram, you can search a person by his/her username. Not just for searching a person, this feature is usually used by the users to discover new channels across the platform.

Search with username - Telegram

We’ll have to give this to Telegram.

Sending And Receiving Messages Or Data & Maximum File Size Allowed

These are the very basic and most important features of these apps and everyone started using these apps just for sharing messages or other data like photos, videos, documents etc

Both apps function and send/receive data in real time but with Telegram, you can send much more data at once. The maximum size of the video for sharing on WhatsApp is 16 MB while document size can be up to 100 MB. Most of the time WhatsApp compresses the size of photo or video which affects its quality. But Telegram allows you to send any Video or file of Size up to 1.5 GB.

Video Size Limit - WhatsApp Vs Telegram

Sending Videos – WhatsApp vs Telegram

Isn’t that a little too much against 16 MB? You can even choose to compress according to your choice as you can see in the picture.

Winner: Telegram

Animated Stickers and GIFs

For making texting more versatile smileys and stickers are common things on almost every second app. But, WhatsApp has got no animated stickers. On Telegram, you’ll find a vast range of fun stickers to use and you can download more for free.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, has a variety of GIFs to make your chat experience count.

Animated Stickers on Telegram - WhatsApp GIFs

Let’s put this in a draw.

Groups

We all have family groups, special groups, annoying groups etc. on WhatsApp. And many of you might have one on Telegram too.

On WhatsApp maximum numbers of members allowed to add in a group is 256 against 1oo thousand on Telegram. Yes, 100,000 is the number.

When you join a WhatsApp group, all the members there can see your phone number by going to your profile. It’s not the case for Telegram. You have all options to remain anonymous even after joining a group.

Winner: Telegram again.

Channels And Bots

There is no such thing as a channel or bot on WhatsApp.

Telegram has it all. Thousands of channels on Telegram are managed by common people or sometimes enterprises. They are available in different categories like Animals, Animes, Art & Design, Celebs, Education, Entertainment, Fashion & Beauty, Gaming, Fitness, Health and the list does not end.

Telegram vs WhatsApp comparison - Co-Founder Durov's Channel - Telegram 1

It has the bots by various creators to make problem-solving easier.

Is it difficult to guess the winner?

Video Calls

All WhatsApp lovers must be feeling alive after coming to this section. Most probably video calling feature doesn’t let a WhatsApp user shift to Telegram despite all amazing things that are in Telegram.

There is nothing much to explain as you all know that WhatsApp has this feature which obviously users love to use. Telegram is yet to roll out video calling.

WhatsApp wins here.

Self-Destructing Messages

Before talking about self-destructing messages I want to tell you that Telegram already has a feature that allows you to delete your sent messages from your and your friends chat history. This is the feature that WhatsApp has rolled out a few months back. But on WhatsApp, you can delete messages within just 4096 seconds.

Yes, Telegram supports self-destructing messages, unlike WhatsApp.  Here you can also choose the timer from 1 second to 1 minute and send.  When the recipient sees the message, the message will be deleted from his device within that selected time.

This one goes to – Telegram.

Data Backup

This is the feature that I love on Telegram. On WhatsApp, you have the option to choose the local storage on your device or on Google Drive/iCloud or both. Despite doing all this I have lost my WhatsApp Data often. There is a fixed time at which backup takes place. If the backup hasn’t been done yet and you lose your Account, you will lose your data too.

But Telegram isn’t messed up this way. It has its own cloud storage and all your data is safe. From whichever device you log in, your complete data will be available there just as it happens on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

We can settle for a draw.

Story Or Status

Both features are now same on WhatsApp as Story is called Status. Your picture, video or text status will last for 24 hours from the time of uploading.

status feature on WhatsApp

Telegram has no such feature as Story or status. And both the apps have ‘Adding Bio’ feature which can be seen when someone checks your profile.

Winner: WhatsApp

Privacy

It was a big concern among WhatsApp users back then. But now, both the apps have end-to-end message encryption by which no one can have access to your personal data.

There is an option on WhatsApp to hide your profile picture even when someone has your number. On Telegram, everyone who reaches to your profile can see your profile pictures and even previous profile pictures if you have not deleted them.

Old profile pictures visible on - Telegram

Old profile pictures visible on Telegram

And as I said in the ‘groups’ section Telegram won’t allow group members to see your phone number but it is not the case on WhatsApp.

So it can be considered a draw.

Final Say

You must have read the whole Telegram vs WhatsApp comparison and you can clearly see that if we talk about the features Telegram is definitely the champion.  But if all of your friends are on WhatsApp, then the champion app does not have many purposes to serve.

WhatsApp has already taken the market for now. It seems like the majority of the users are okay with the number of members allowed in a group on Whatsapp and it is not much of use to them if one hundred thousand people are allowed like on Telegram.

The majority hardly goes for files bigger than 16 MB. All they want is that their message is sent. WhatsApp tapped all these requirements long before any other app like Hike, Telegram, Allo etc.

So, in the end, you can decide which app suits you the best based on your preferences. I have both and I like Telegram more. You can share your view in the comments.

How To Add Group Description On WhatsApp

Add Description To WhatsApp Group Chats

Recently, WhatsApp added a feature which allows you to add a description for group chats. This might sound a pretty useless feature to have at first thought but believe me, it comes in quite handy. Group Descriptions can be used to explain what the group is all about or group rules and more. If it’s a large group then description can help everyone stay on the same page. Before we go more into benefits of having a description let’s first see the procedure to add group description on WhatsApp from Android or iPhone.

Add Group Description On WhatsApp

Update the WhatsApp app to the latest version from the respective app stores and follow the steps below.

  • Open WhatsApp and select the Group for which you wish to add a description.
  • When you are in the group conversation screen, tap on group name at the top to go to Group Info.Group Description On WhatsApp
  • Under Group Info, you’ll see an additional text field just below the group name that reads – “Add group description“. Tap on it.
  • Next, type the desired description and tap on Save at the top right.

Note: A maximum of 500 characters are allowed in a WhatsApp group description.

With this, you have set the description for the group. Group participants will be notified about the same in the chat screen itself with a message which is similar to – “[Contact Name] changed the group description. Tap to view.

Similarly, you can add a description for other WhatsApp groups.

Why Should You Add Group Description?

1. Group Information – It can be used to explain the group purpose in detail, unlike Group name where only 25 characters are allowed.

2. Group Rules – If you are managing or a part of a group that is more like a community then you can clearly give the rules of the group in the description. This will give the group members clear instructions about Dos and Don’ts. This can go a long way in preventing spam.

3. Sharing Important News – It can behave like a pinned post on Facebook page or group. An important news or information can easily get lost in the plethora of gibberish messages. Group description can play its part here.

So, these were few reasons you can use group description on WhatsApp. Are you going to add them and if yes then for what reason? Let us know in the comments.

We hope that you were able to change WhatsApp language. Do you find this option useful? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments because we love hearing from you.

How to Use Multiple WhatsApp accounts on PC Mac

In one of our earlier articles, we mentioned how you can use two WhatsApp Accounts on one Android phone. This time around we have come up with a solution for the same but on PC, Mac browser. WhatsApp Web is a service that lets you use your WhatsApp account in a browser on your phone or desktop. WhatsApp also has an app/software for easy access from PC and Mac. We are going to leverage these two to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on same PC or Mac.

Most of us have more than one WhatsApp account for some reason or the other. And whatever that maybe we are here to help you use your accounts at the same time. Here are the easy ways to do so on a computer.

Use Multiple WhatsApp Accounts On Same PC/Mac

1. Vist WhatsApp Web in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Opera browser.

2. Scan the QR code by opening WhatsApp on your phone. After that, go to Settings and select WhatsApp Web/Desktop (iPhone)

WhatsApp Web/Desktop iPhone

or tap on 3 dots and select WhatsApp Web (Android).

WhatsApp Web in Android App

WhatsApp Web Android

Point the phone’s camera on the barcode that is shown on the PC screen.

3. With this, you will be logged into that WhatsApp account of yours on PC browser.

4. To log in to another WhatsApp account in the same browser, you need to open Incognito (Chrome) or Private Window (Other browsers) by clicking on the Menu (3 dots or Hamburger icon) and selecting New Incognito/Private Window.

5. In the new Incognito/Private Window, open WhatsApp Web. You will get the option to scan QR code again. This time you can open WhatsApp on your another phone to log in to the second account on the browser.

6. If you wish to open more than two WhatsApp accounts then you can open more New Private Window but this won’t work in Chrome browser. On other browsers, it will work just fine.

Alternatively, you can open a different browser from the one you used above that is installed on your computer and open WhatsApp Web there. Here too you can make use of the Private Window to open more accounts.

Note: The session for the accounts which you open in Incognito or Private Window won’t be saved. Which means that you will have to scan the barcode and log in to WhatsApp Web every time after you close the active session.

Bonus Tip

If using the browser’s Incognito mode is not working perfectly for you then you can use the WhatsApp software for PC and Mac. You can download it here.

After installation, open it and scan the barcode shown on the app from your WhatsApp account on the smartphone.

So, one WhatsApp Web account on browser’s normal window and another on WhatsApp desktop app. Not to forget that you can use normal browsing mode of other installed browsers to access even more WhatsApp accounts on the same PC or Mac.

Request and download your WhatsApp account information

Similar to Instagram, WhatsApp has also rolled out an update that allows you to request and download your account information. This information will also let you know the information WhatsApp has collected about you. But please note that this data won’t contain your messages. If you are looking to export your chat history then you can email your conversations for that purpose. The recent feature is named “Request account info” and this guide explains how you can find and use it to download your WhatsApp account information.

As of now, the option is only available for Android and that too on the Beta version of the app. We could find it in the beta version – v2.18.120.  It will soon roll out on the official iPhone and Android version. Until then, if you want to make use of this feature you’ll have to get on the Android beta version.

Now, let’s get to the method, shall we?

Download Your WhatsApp Account Information

1. Open WhatsApp and go to Settings. In order to do so, tap on 3 dots at the top right and select Settings.

2. Under Settings, tap on Account.

Download your WhatsApp account information

3. Here you should find Request account info. Tap on it.

4. Next, tap on Request report.

How to Request WhatsApp account info

That’s all you need to do request your WhatsApp account information. WhatsApp mentions that it takes up to 3 days to prepare your data or report. After requesting the report, it showed 1-day waiting time for us. However, we got the report in less than an hour.

5. Once your report is ready, you will receive a notification for the same. You can easily find your report under – Settings > Account > Request account info. Now, you can simply tap on Download report.

Download and Export WhatsApp account information

6. After that, use the Export report button to email the downloaded file or share it somewhere else.

Here’s the list of items you will find in your report.

  • Profile Picture
  • About
  • Groups
  • WhatsApp Contact Numbers
  • Settings – Privacy Settings and Blocked numbers

As the data is confidential, you will get only a few weeks to download the requested data. So, make sure you export it before it expires.

We hope that this feature soon makes it to the official version of the app for both Android and iPhone. If you are in the beta version then you are in luck as you can download your WhatsApp account information right away.

Don’t forget to share this article if you found it helpful.

The Restricted Groups feature was being tested for some time now and finally, it has made it to the official WhatsApp app. What this means is that group admins can stop or block group members from changing group icon, subject/name and description. The new Group settings are rolled out in both iPhone and Android version of the app. In this guide, you will learn how to use this setting to restrict WhatsApp group members from changing group info.

The latest Group Settings will only be accessible to the group admins. Hence you can only restrict the members of a group if you’re an admin of that group.

Here are the easy steps to restrict group participants on WhatsApp.

Block Group Members From Changing Group Icon, Subject & Description

Update WhatsApp to the latest version from the respective app stores and then jump to the method below.

Note: I have used the steps and screenshots from the iPhone app but Android users won’t feel any significant difference.

1. Open WhatsApp and open the conversation of the group of which you’re an admin and want to restrict group members.

2. In the group conversation screen, tap on the Group name at the top.

3. Under Group Info, you will see a new option – Group Settings. Tap on it.

Restrict WhatsApp group members from changing group info

4. Now, you will be taken to Group Settings. Here, tap on Edit Group Info.

5. Next, select Only Admins.

This will do the job.

The group members other than admins will be locked out from editing group photo, name and description. If they try to do so they will get a message saying – “Only admins can edit this group’s info“. After this only admins will be able to edit Group Info. You can change it later to All Participants if desired from the same place.

Apart from this, the new update also added the feature to “Dismiss as admin” which demotes an admin to a normal member without removing them from the group. This feature came in the beta version of the app a few months ago and is now introduced in the official version.

The new Group Settings on WhatsApp certainly prove that there are a lot of users making use of groups on WhatsApp. Do you think these new options are going to be useful for you? Let us know your thoughts by dropping a comment below.

WhatsApp is a brilliant platform to keep in touch with near and dear ones. It has completely revolutionized the texting space by making it very cheaper including the multimedia files and documents. As it happens in almost all cases, some people just do not deserve the change. WhatsApp has this good feature to block a contact that irritates you in any manner. WhatsApp maintains a separate list of people that you have blocked. I have myself blocked many of my family members who used to send me good morning messages. Well, I have also blocked some people who do not reply to my good morning messages. At times, we might need those people back in our life. So, here are some simple steps to see blocked contacts on WhatsApp from Android or iPhone.

How To View Contacts You Have Blocked On WhatsApp

Note: I have used screenshots from the Android app in this article but there are only cosmetic differences if any for the iPhone app.

1. If you are using an Android phone, open WhatsApp and tap on ‘ Three dots‘ menu icon on the top right and then on ‘Settings‘. iPhone users can directly tap on ‘Settings‘ at the bottom right of the screen.

2. When the ‘Settings’ page is opened, tap on ‘Account‘. Then from the available options, choose ‘Privacy‘ on the top.

Blocking someone is a bit too harsh as the other person can not express anything after that. You can simply delete their number from the contacts. Before deleting the contact or blocking someone, you can also try by muting their chat for some time and WhatsApp also has the option to mute status. If you face any problem in performing these features or steps, feel free to ask us in the comments.

WhatsApp has finally rolled out group calling for all the users. We just got the feature on our devices and were able to try it out. Initially, it was made available only on the Beta version and that too for limited users. However, now you can use your favorite messaging app to call multiple friends at the same time. The feature is supported for both audio and video calls. In this guide, we have mentioned quick steps to let you know how you can make group voice and video calls in WhatsApp.

To get started you need to do the obvious – update WhatsApp to the latest version. After you’ve done that follow the method below.

How To Make Group Calls On WhatsApp

I will be using the steps and screenshots from the Android app. But iPhone users won’t notice much of a difference.

1. Open WhatsApp and go to the conversation of the friend who is one of the participants.

2. Now, tap on telephone icon to place a voice call or video icon to make a video call. Tap on Call to proceed.

3. Once this person picks up your audio or video call, you will see an add person icon at the top right of the screen. Tap on it.

4. On the next screen, you will be able to see all your WhatsApp contacts. Select the desired friend you wish to add to the group call from the list or search if required.

5. Similarly, you can keep adding other participants. Please remember, add member icon will disappear once there are 4 people in a group call. Also, other participants can also add other members to the group call.

This is how you can easily make group calls on WhatsApp for Android and iPhone.

Group Video vs Group Audio Calls

One thing I didn’t like is that you have to add the participants one at a time. Currently, there is no option to add multiple people at once. Apart from that, you cannot switch from group voice to group video call which is possible when you are on a voice call with a single contact.
